Re: 64 bit versions

Can I resurrect this thread? Like the OP I have recently changed my computer and now run a 64 bit OS with a 64 bit host application, Serif PhotoPlus X8. Although I can and do run the latest 32 bit versions of FocalBlade, Colorwasher, LightMachine and ContrastMaster in the 32 bit install of PhotoPlus...

Another thing that I noticed is that PhotoPlus displays the plugin preview very slowly. It seems to draws the preview pixel by pixel and not at once. Seems that PhotoPlus is not such a good plugin host at all. Interesting comment! That's not something I had noticed but then my experience with photo...

I managed to reproduce the problem with PhotoPlus 11 under Windows 7 64-bit. The problem is that PhotoPlus uses a zero memory buffer handle, which causes the problem. I managed to add a workaround. I will upload fixed versions as soon as possible. I will let you know by email. Thank you Harald! Tha...

Since there is, apparently, no solution to this problem yet, I wonder if I might be able, Harald, to help you in your search? I note you have disabled PMs on the board - for obvious reasons - but I wonder if there is any other way to contact you since I may well be able to help with an entirely lega...

Thanks Harald!

I've also posted about this at the Serif User forum because I'm sure there are others who use PhotoWiz with PhotoPlus. So far, no replies!

If there's anything I can do to help track down the cause of this, please feel free to contact me.

Regards.

No-one any ideas on this problem, which is seriously hindering my normal workflow? Harald? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Serif PhotoPlus X3, but the problem remains exactly as before. I suppose the next step could be to uninstall and reinstall ALL my PhotoWiz plugs but it seems unlikely...

Problems with PhotoWiz Plugins under Win 7 with PhotoPlus

I have all the PhotoWiz plug ins (BW Styler 1.03, Color Washer 2.04, Contrast Master 1.04, Focal Blade 1.07, Light Machine 1.06) running in Serif Photo Plus X3 (latest version) under Windows 7 32 bit. I have discovered a "problem" which occurs with ALL these plug-ins: if I decide to "cancel" the plu...

Brian Smith: Please redownload B/W Styler from the same link. I uploaded a fixed version in the meantime. You can simply install over the previous installation. hexaguano seems to already have the fixed version. Harald, I still have the same problem as Brian Smith. Unfortunately, the link provided ...

Yes, I've seen the same thing happen, though not every time, and in my case with Serif PhotoPlus 10. The only solution seems to be to close the application, reopen it and the B/W Styler Screen becomes ungarbled. I've just been able to reproduce the problem: open the app, open a picture, use B/W Styl...

On the general point of updates to the "host" program causing problems when attempting to transfer/install the plugins for the new version. I use Serif PhotoPlus and have found that simply copying my existing "plugins" folder to the new version of the program automatically transfers all my plug-ins ...

New version of ColorWasher

I see from the PhotoWiz home page the current version of Color Washer is listed as 2.02. Checking my installed version I see it is 2.01. When was this update released? As a registered user should I have received notification of the update? I have discovered that some emails sent recently to my Inbox...

I remember from an earlier post that Leif said he was using the free version of Serif PhotoPlus. I think this is version 5 or 6; the current full version is 9.02. I wonder whether there is an incompatibility between some of the PhotWiz plug-ins and that older version of PhotoPlus. Certainly, I've ne...

Leif, as a long-term user of Serif PhotoPlus and of Focal Blade, Color Washer and now Light Machine I can confidently say they work perfectly together. There was an initial problem with Light Machine and PhotoPlus but the latest version of the plug-in has solved that problem. I've never used Corel D...

Thanks, Harald, for the continued efforts and for your reply. Activating the Log Settings check box in LM, making changes to an image, then clicking OK produces the message of a memory violation: "ds = 0x0023". Unchecking Log Settings allows LM to process the image without further problem. Good to k...

Any luck, Harald, in tracing the cause of this problem? I have recently installed XP Pro SP2, previously XP Pro SP1. LightMachine problem with Serif PhotoPlus 9

I also have FocalBlade and Colorwasher so am very aware of the quality of these plugins. The problem with LightMachine is one I saw with the demo version, also present in the full bought version. On first using LightMachine on any image (most usually these are jpg) all works as expected and excellen...
