PSP X2 on a Vista 64 bit computer
I'm sorry to have to tell you this - but VISTA with PSPX2 64 bit processor - will crash. Period! It has something to do with the code in PSPX2, and that Vista is a memory hog. Many programs can't compete with Vista. I know, I was one of those that just couldn't believe it until it happened just one ...

How to protect photos
For something as special as this is, I would go to a framing service and ask them what sort of treatment is best. It all depends on the paper and finish. I would also use non-reflective glass, that would deflect the sun from the portrait. The professional service would know for sure.

PSP 9 issues
MM and Hello: I use PSP 9, and haven't had any problems with installation. But your error sounds like: something is missing in the installation code of the program or the program is damaged before install. I don't know how you have the installation program or where you purchased/received the program...

Plugins for gold/silver/pearl effects
I use Eye Candy 4000. It has a variety of different polishing effects. It has gold silver, as well and a variety of beveling, both in and out. I also have Dream Suite Gel Series, that makes a wonderful glow effect, it takes some playing with, but in due time, you get the idea of it.

PSP X2
Since Corel took over the PSP program, I personally was NOT happy with them. It seemed that they were dismanteling different parts and pieces of PSP that I specifically liked in this program. 10/11 were just awful, and I couldn't understand why. They both kept crashing on my system. And it kept me f...

JPEG 2000
Jpeg 2000 didn't really come off as Corel and several other program developers had hoped. Its a format that no one adjusted to. Its best to just use the normal JPEG format and that way everyone can see the images. I tried it once, and it just didn't work for me.
Good luck in your work

Also even ....
This is a great site for people to learn from, given that there are many newbie artists just starting out, the younger generation needs to learn from the older generation.
I enjoy this site's information.

Comments on individual asking for help
It wasn't necessary to call someone a jerk because they are not up to speed on an effect in Photoshop. You could have just said - look to the "feathering affect" I will say also, look to your "tolerance" sometimes its too much, or not enough, you have to play with the numbers on that. Let us be civi...

Paint Shop Pro deformation tool
Perhaps, if you can, you could get a newer version of Paint Shop Pro preferrably version 10. the deformation tool within this newer verison (since version 9) is far better than what you have in version 5. You are really denying yourself an experience as you have never known...you missed some great c...

Dear friend:
A mask or transparency overlay is very much like a negative placed over color which can be either used as making a backdrop or frame effect. Depending on what program you are using at this time, I am using PSP 9, and have not encountered any problems with this program since getting the full install ...

Paint Shop Pro ver 9 - tutorials
Dear Alison: I've been using PSP (now ver 9) for several years. Most of the books will tell you where to find specific commands and such, but not really "teach" you how to complete some intricate, and perhaps challenging design work. I suggest only one way to really "Learn" PSP, and that is to do a ...
