solution is FilterFoundry?

If I am not mistaken, can't FilterFoundry load the settings from these Filter Factory plugins (running under OS X)? If not, it should be able to!! :)

it's simpler than it sounds

ohioclint, Different plugins have different licenses. The vast majority of commercial plugins would allow use for ANY purpose (including commercial), which is, as you say, the whole point of buying them. This thread was primarily about FREE plugins. Some free plugins may not allow commercial use. Th...

Re: I'm confused about free plugin usage

What I've read about the copyrights seem to be about the plugins themselves, not to be used for commercial purposes. What about the images produced. I guess that would mean they also cannot be used if you wanted to sell your artwork or would probably have to be manipulated so that they no longer lo...

You should be able to build Adobe plugins with Borland and an appropriate makefile (I have done this in the past). Re: custom convolutions, The plugin SDK is not really complex; you should not abandon the option of coding your own custom filter for Photoshop or Premiere. The latter SDK seems freely ...

I see you list various types above, but not the .8BA

What does the "A" stand for?
"Acquire" (for scanners, other input sources, etc).

CS2/Mac

I don't think PEF format plugins are still supported. Anyway moving to Mach-O was necessary in order to support the new Intel architecture. No doubt Adobe received a tip-off a long time ago... I haven't seen the non-public SDKs (PS7, CS, CS2) - but you can build CS2 plugins with any old SDK. As usua...

That's good news. I had received ambiguous reports of this and still haven't had a chance to test myself.

Except on the Macintosh.

you can create plugins with the latest Photoshop CS2 SDK that work in all applications For the third time on the Mac platform since PS 2.5, there is a new incompatible executable format for plugins: CS2 now uses Mach-O. (At least Illustrator CS2 does, and I therefore infer, although Adobe does not ...

Re: Plug-in suffix

What clues can we get from the suffix used on the file name... 8be 8bf 8bi (Nikon and GF) And is there a method to revel the author software that was uesd to create the plug-in. Re: Plugin Compatibility

Hi, "Why doesn't XXX plug in work?" We are aware there were changes to the Adobe SDK following PS 7. But can you add some more detailed information Plugins that have been written to the PS7 or PS CS SDKs may be using newer features that Corel (or other host apps) don't support. Plugins that predate...

Free utilities

This can easily be done with the libtiff utilities (http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/), in particular tiffcp can recompress any TIFF with various codecs including TIFF G3 and G4.

There is one easy way

Hi madscientist Save selection. Threshold. Histogram. Let me know if this helps. Note that the magic wand selection has soft edges (with AA enabled), hence the threshold operation. (If you want a method of counting "coverage" taking into account partially selected pixels, I can easily modify my Coun...

Re: pluginn for gradients along a path / shape

is there a plugin that allows me to create paths or shapes and haeve the gradient follow the shape of the path/shape? In lieu of a raster equivalent, I have found that Illustrator blends are a convenient way of producing such gradients. (Then Rasterise.) If making the solid gradient that way is not...
