Actually, if you buy the educational versions (and there are comrercial restrictions, technically—so don't tell) even twice, you have still saved half of the cost of a full version. In otherwords, you pay about half, then instead of an upgrade price you get the new educational version (again) which ...

Resizing in Webgallery
Hi Shuggy, You should be able to set the size to custon from the drop-down menu... In the Web Gallery dialog box next to Options: drop down the dialog to the right and select "Large Images," this will give a new set of options in the lower half of the window—check the "Resize Images" checkbox and dr...

Multiple versions
In my own experience, sometimes an upgrade to an app requires both versions installed in order to function. When I worked at a newspaper, we had that happen while upgrading from PS 6 to PS 7, I seem to remember the same problem with Quark at the time. I don't think that is still true of PS though. I...

Painter, etc
Thank you both for your replies... since my work is primarily creative rather than corrective, I feel I have made the right choices. I am only marginally impressed with the Corel product line, but my experience is limited. Adobe products have been difficult to learn, but have paid off handsomly. Pai...

Auto FX
For what it is worth... I also bought a bundle of Auto FX plugins including PGE 5, DreamSuite 1 and Gel. I love what they are capable of doing, but I have several complaints. I work on a Macintosh G4, and when I first got these plugs it was a 733MHz with 1.2 Gigs RAM and I was using OS 9 and PS 7. W...

PSP & Painter...Same?
This is my first post and I did not see any relevant topics for this particular question... so at the risk of seeming redundant... I have Painter 8 by Corel, though I use it seldom (I favor Photoshop and curently use CS 1), anyway I have been confused for some time about the different programs refer...

Patterns and weaves
I did not know about Redfield...Ah, they are for Windows platform only. I do wish people would be a bit more specific and not assume an IBM world in the graphics industry...sigh. So what platform are you using? You may want to check out Flaming Pear. They have a coule that may help like Knot, Wavey ...

The Best PhotoShop Plug-ins
I agree that Alien Skin/Xenofex are the best for special efects, but I must add that I am surprised no one mentioned Extensis. PhotoFrame beats PGE (Auto FX Photo Graphic Edges) hands down for versatility, speed and ease of use, and they just came out with a new version (I cannot afford to upgrade y...
