thanks, Harold. I was hoping to avoid loading Windows on my new Mac. Maybe I'll just hang onto the PC for times when I want to use the Xero filters.

The easiest solution would be to install Windows on your Mac, either in a virtual machine or as a dual boot option. I agree. Except it would also be the most expensive option, unless I went back to a much earlier version of Photoshop for the Windows, unless there is a way around having to have Phot...

Xero-like Filters for Mac?

Alas, I must give up my trusty old (emphasis on "old") PC for a new Mac. I will really miss a couple of the utilities that are available only to PC, most notably some of the Xero filters for Photoshop. There must be a way to duplicate some of the effects, if I say which ones can anyone help me figur...

Photoshop 7/Mac OS 10.2 install questions

I'm trying to find out some info before I make some software purchases, wondering if any Mac users can help.... I have an older Mac, running OS 8.6 with Photoshop 6. I also have a newer Mac someone gave me, running OS 10.2.6. I want to switch over to the newer Mac, but Photoshop 6 won't install on t...

Hi Harald, I tried that one and found it fine for my own use, even the lens flare that comes with Photoshop is great. I was hoping there would be something even more straight forward, as the person who'll be using this is not really an imaging guy. What he really wants is to be able to put a "glare ...

Lens Flare for IrfanView?

Hi all. I'm looking for an easy to use, flexible filter that will do lens flares in IrfanView. I'm looking for this for a friend who also has PhotoDeluxe, but prefers Irfanview. Thanks.

I got the Kangs filters in question to work in IrfanView by moving them into the FilterFactory folder. So, I did that in Photoshop as well. It worked on the Win 98 machine, but not the XP one. But then, after a few tries, it quit on the 98 computer (a memory problem, maybe?) Itfanview is OK for thi...

Hep! Problems with some of Kangs filters

I've installed all 4 volumes of Kang's filters in Photoshop 7, but cannot use some of the filters. I usually get could not complete the ----------- command because of a program error , and occasionally the program crashes with an illegal action error. Has anyone had this happen, or is it just me? Is...
