I think the EOS 20D comes with a raw image converter that will convert the images to either TIFF or JPEG. If you convert first, you should be all set.

you make a great point

You make a great case from the negative that art can be created by virtually any imaging tools. At the same time, I agree that not everything that is created is art - at least not good art. I had this discussion a couple of days ago with a camera club Yoda about macro photography. Most people who us...

Noise Ninja

I have found Noise Ninja to be highly effective, and you have some nice control with the program as well. You can individually profile each image, and there is an undo brush to reduce the effect in the parts of the picture where it is undesireable. I have found it very effective at noise reduction i...

DxO Optics Pro offers correction for this problem for some cameras. You can find a link to it on the site Steves-digicams.com under software and then under pro utilities. They will list which cameras this software can now correct, and they are also working on others.

Harald is right about not producing them in the first place. It sounds like this is coming from your camera this way. Check your instruction manual to see if you have variable sharpness settings, and if you do turn that down a notch at a time, until you get acceptable results. Some cameras oversharp...

Are you trying to remove or create this phenomenon? To remove it you could create a copy of the original image, rotate the image and clone from the copy with a soft edged brush. You will have a good match for texture and color that way.

Wow... Danielle, that is perfect! You know, it's so easy, I should have intuitively understood this myself, given my film background. The truth is, I have a lot of experience with certain aspects of Photoshop because of the work I have done, and big gaps elsewhere, where I guess I just don't have a ...

Thank you!

Thank you for the help. I will try Focal Blade out. By the way, I love the try before you buy options for software. I never mind buying what works for me, but I hate buying something that does not really do what I need. I have gotten used to this option for Palm Software, and really helps. I will le...

That definitely helps Harald. Thanks. I am looking for something that also has less effect on the quality of midtones and still retains some highlight detail while showing diffusion effects in midtones in general, and on the flesh tones in particular. Maybe I just need to work with the settings more...

Diffusion plugin?

I am looking for a good diffusion plugin. The ones I have tried so far seem to give me a lot of little light dots around the highlights, as if done with a very coarse airbrush. I would like to see something a lot smoother, and I would also like to find one with the option to diffuse dark into light ...

When using Genuine Fractals or S-spline, is there any need to enlarge in 10% increments, or is this automatic?
