I guess the only way is to open the CDR file with CorelDraw, convert it to a suitable format e.g. BMP and to open the BMP file in Photoshop.

Maybe IrfanView from www.irfanview.com can convert them, too.

PI 8 has a drop shadow effect, right? Try the following: Make your selection, then invert it and apply a drop shadow effect.

I'm not sure if it works, but a cutout effect is basically a reversed drop shadow effect.

What you mean is called Photomosaic. There are several applications and some plugins which can produce such an effect. Some of them are freeware.

Try entering the term photomosaic in a search engine.

I'm not sure if HyperTyle (or other Photoshop plugins) work in MGI Photosuite 4.0 as I never used it. If there's a fodler called "plugins" orsomething similar in the MGI folder, please install HyperTyle there. Maybe you have to specify a plugin folder within MGI Photosuite in the Options or Preferen...

Actions can only be used in Photoshop. The instructions for using them in Photoshop are available on the download page of Harry's Filters.

Actions aren't plugins they are scripts that perform certain tasks.

Not every application who claims to be compatible with Photoshop plugins really is to the full extent. Some plugins may work with it, other won't. It always depends on how many effort the developers invested and how many plugins they really tested with their application. Are you sure that HyperTyle ...

Hi Jayse, thanks for your interest. Plugin Commander displays the internal names and category (=sub menu) of AE plugins. It lets you deactivate AE plugins, so that they don't show up in AE. The Pro Version of Plugin Commander lets you also change the category of AE plugins and displays preview image...

For the yellow color use some colorizing filter. The chessboard pattern can be done in many different ways. The easiest way is probably to create such a pattern on a seperate layer and blend it with the photo by using e.g. the "Screen" method.
