Theoretically, a trial version should should work exactly the same as a licensed version except for lack of ability to save, watermarked results or a time limit on saving. I wonder if there's anything else about your system which might cause this? In the meantime, try repairing Permissions using Dis...

Hi afby, I used Vivacity under pretty much the same conditions (early MacBook 1.8 with 2 gigs RAM and CS3 as well as a Mac Pro tower). Except for mine not being a trial copy. I didn't have any crashing problems at all--I easily made the examples you see on my web page. I will email my contact at Top...

Topaz Labs Vivacity--now for Mac

I've just had a chance to use the as-yet unreleased Mac version of Topaz Labs Vivacity , which is a small plug-in suite suite that covers image enhancements such as enlarging, noise reduction, clean up and sharpening. The funny thing is, a lot of people use it for special effects by overdoing the sh...

In Photoshop, create a new layer mask, then use the Gradient tool to create a black-to-white blend on the mask. Drag in the direction you wish it to go.

Well, no luck yet... Sometimes it takes awhile but with instant electronic communication, there are few good excuses for a delayed reply to a customer!

In the meantime, see the various software options listed on this page under "Diffusion".

I just checked their site and see they offer a new version of Fog that deals with registration issues: "Updated plugin release - Fog v2.0beta11 The popular Fog filter has been updated to fix some registration bugs, and to lay the groundwork for some exciting new features. Recommended download for al...

Good point, Harald, though the label "imac" can apply to any model going back 10 years! ;-) But obviously from the specs he is using a newer model... I'll check this again from a MacPro in the office next week.

Alex, while I'm not a developer I want to thank you for moving your software in the Mac direction! That is always appreciated.

Question: How does your software compare to Fisheye-Hemi?

I just did a quick test (PPC 800DP Mac, 1.5 gigs RAM, PS CS3, Leopard 10.5.2) and didn't have any problems with any of the sliders in ColorWasher 2.0 causing a crash. The Saturation slider was a bit jumpy and difficult to position precisely, but that's something I've seen for some time before Leopar...

Hmm, I imagine software developers would avoid such a thing to stay out of trouble! ;-) Since you don't want to use a screen plug-in (such as Andromeda Screens ), your next step might be to use a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop (or an integrated app such as Canvas) and draw the lines as vec...

Death of a fine plug-in

It has just been confirmed that the folks at fo2pix have liquidated their business. They produced the buZZ set of plug-ins, along with ArtMaster Pro, which created a wonderful simplification effect. The closest effects to buZZ I am aware of are those created by LucisArt . Read more info on RetouchPr...

You're welcome! Yes, I did decide to favor the newer Windows version, since 80% of my visitors are Windows users. But I just modified the header of the page slightly to reflect the Mac version. Also Harald, please email me (I'm not sure if my messages over the months are reaching you): mike <at> plu...
