Can't get Digital Photo Effects in USA

I tried to subscribe to Digital Photo Effects and it tells me it's not availble to US residents. WHY NOT?! I've looked for comparable magazines in the US and haven't found anything. Anybody have any suggestions?

The reason why you can't subscribe to Digital Photo Effects is that it was closed down. Issue 28 is the last issue that will be published. You should be able to get issue 27 in Barnes & Nobles or in Borders stores. Issue 28 should be available in approx. one month outside the UK.
Old issues of the magazine may be available in second hand places and maybe at ebay.

That is sad to hear.
I guess I will visit B&N and Borders and see what I can find.
Would like to find a magazine similar in format to give me monthly projects to work on as I learn PS. I know I can find lots of tutorials and stuff on the web, but I happen to like the feel of paper.
