in batch bmp or tif images changing to jpegs

Hi,
Does anybody know how to make big batches of pictures (bmp or tif's) into jpeg's with the same compression. The thing is we take many pictures with sem- tem- or lightmicroscopy everyday. In 1 report usually we use 20 to 40 pictures. To put them in a manageable report we would like to use jpeg's, hence the question. It should work in a very easy and quick way because there is allready a lot of admin work involved.
