hi all,
I have been using photoshop cs3 but just updated to cs4. I have noticed that sometimes when I start photoshop that sometimes it starts with a bug. When I put my cursor over my image, no matter what tool I am using there is only the hand tool. I can not edit the image at all. I can apply styles and things like that, but I can't crop, select, erase, nothing from the tools menu. Only the hand tool appeared. Even closing photoshop and restarting doesn't do anything. I can only seem to fix it by rebooting my computer. Has anyone heard of this or know of a fix?
Thanks

The Hand tool can be invoked by pressing the space bar. Is anything leaning on your keyboard? Had to check... Sometime I see students in my labs leave a book pressing on the Control key and weird things happen.
Otherwise, what is your operating system and how much RAM do you have? Have you tried deleting the PS prefs or even reinstalling PS?
There was a 11.0.1 update the other day; try applying it as well.

Hey Sean.
Myself Sandra and according to your problem, I am suggesting to you that reset all tool from the toolbar menu's "All Reset" options. You can find this option from first toolbar pane. It is below file menu option. You do not need to reboot your computer for this problem. Thanks for posting and stay connected.
