Pretty decent photographer, new to digital-need suggestions

Postby azspots » Tue Nov 22, 2005 12:10 am

Hi - recently got a digital camera, need some help on what plug in would be needed to move picture from where it "lives" on my computer to forums or emails.

Moved a picture using "Paint.net" - but, it sure didn't do my picture any justice.

Simple is good, again, just need to move things, crop them occaisionally and touch things up.

Any help would be MUCHO appreciated.

Thanks much,
Val

Hi Val,
If I read your question correctly, what you will need is a programme to resize your photographs for inserting into web forums and a simple programme for cropping the photos. I think that a programme called Irfanview will do all that you require. It works for me, but I don't seem to have the link to get you there, just type the name into google. Best of all It's FREE.
You may also find that websites like Photobucket and Image Shack may be of use to you when you are putting photo's into forums. If you need any more help just shout. I do have a simplified crib sheet on how to us irfanview if you need it

How do you resize images so you can have them as thumbnails and then when you click it is goes to a larger picture?

Hi Anna, If you are using Windows Xp go to view folders and then set your prefs for that folder to show thumbnails of your photos
In "my pictures" it is the same system. If this does not answer the question please post back saying which Photo editing Package you are using
