Flood problem redux

My Flood plugin has stopped working, it previews etc , then nothing happens.
This is exactly as described here, posted in 2002, last post over a year ago, but no clear solution was found. Has anyone come up with an answer since then?

I have not upgraded to a later version and my firewall prevents Flood from accessing the net, so why is my now old plugin and serial no. now apparently no good? I thought once I had purchased it that was it.
Got a horrible feeling I am missing something here.

I'm sorry, Harry, my second post was (not deliberately) misleading. I upgraded Flood and everything is OK, it was just a kinda general question. I would've edited the post but don't see the option. Anyway. many thanks, you got me sorted.
