Plugin to keep geotiff information?

Hi,

My first post here. Please forgive me if this is the wrong area to post this question.

I am looking for a specific plugin. What I would like is a plugin that keeps Geotiff information embedded in the tiff. These are special tags that are used in a GIS environment.

I know of a program called "Geographic Imager", but that is way too expensive, and does much more than I need.

Anybody aware of another plugin that would do this?
