DreamSuite???

Postby BlackLilly » Mon Apr 23, 2007 10:36 am

Hello,
I just had a huge puter crash and am working with a fresh drive. I went to install dreamsuite and all was going ok, I did the update, but when I went to use it. the screen opens(as a standalone) but there is no text at all on it. nothing at all. just the buttons. How do I fix this?
I am running windows xp home ed.
I have never had this issue before.

BlackLilly, I'm a Mac guy and can only make some guesses since I've never seen this with my copy of DS but:

1) What was the nature of your crash (hardware, software)?

2) Did you start over with a fresh installation of WinXP? I'm assuming you did. If you simply restored from backup, this may be the problem.

3) You seem to indicate you updated Dreamsuite. Does it work properly as a plug-in (as opposed to standalone)?

4) Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling DS?

5) How much RAM do you have? Auto FX apps need huge amounts, and even then it's not enough.

6) Can you try installing DS on another computer? If it works, then something is wrong with your repaired setup.

Maybe you should uninstall Dreamsuite and reínstall it without the update...

I guess only AutoFX themselves can help here...

I have had that problem in the past. I am guessing you have both DS 1 and 2...

When you install, make sure you install # ! first, and then #2. Also sometimes if you have the gel series, the problem you speak of will happen, so install it last. Make sure they go into the plugin folder--sometimes this doesn't happen, and it goes elsewhere. Also make sure you reboot so it recognizes there is a change.

I don't know if this helped, but reinstall in this order, and see if it helps. But make sure you uninstall what you installed first.

Good luck:) :D

Hummm...
I had this in the past, I do not remember but make sure the font ARDS1.ttf is installed.
This font is in the Dreamsuite directory.

Just take a look inside the install folder and search for a file named "ChooseFont.exe", double click and then choose the ARDS1 font. If is not installed in your system, check in the same install folder and you will find it (ARDS1.ttf). Install and repeat the previous step.
