BlackLilly, I'm a Mac guy and can only make some guesses since I've never seen this with my copy of DS but:
1) What was the nature of your crash (hardware, software)?
2) Did you start over with a fresh installation of WinXP? I'm assuming you did. If you simply restored from backup, this may be the problem.
3) You seem to indicate you updated Dreamsuite. Does it work properly as a plug-in (as opposed to standalone)?
4) Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling DS?
5) How much RAM do you have? Auto FX apps need huge amounts, and even then it's not enough.
6) Can you try installing DS on another computer? If it works, then something is wrong with your repaired setup.
