Adding Rippling Water To An Animation

Postby AJ » Mon Apr 23, 2007 8:17 pm

Hi there everybody.

I'm interested in adding some rippling water to an animation. I already have the animation in AVI, gif and can split it into individual jpeg frames. I made it in Photoshop and Imageready.

I've tried the popular Reflet and Swirlz applications but they both work with images not existing animations.

Can anyone help. I've tried looking for a similar post but can't find an answer. I don't think this has been asked before.

All replies appreciated.

AJ

You can also create a rippling water animation with Photoshop plugins that were not made for animated effects. You just need to change the slider settings for each JPG frame. OF course, it is much more work and more difficult than using an animation tool, but it can work.

Here are some Photoshop Plugins that I found:

Water Ripples (free), Ripples Magic

Flood

For an animatable After Effects / Premiere plugins see:

Panopticum Water

Wow, thanks Kevin! I'm going to try Swirlz out. I need to learn how to save individual animation frames as .jpgs to load onto a texture...nice!

How do I save an animation properly on photoshop?
I've made an animation of photshop, save it to gif. But when I tried to upload it to photobucket, it became a picture. I want it to stay as an animation. But I want to do it properly. And I want to it stay as an animation.
