Currency Look

Postby BTAL » Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:14 am

Does anyone know of a Photoshop plug-in that produces the unique lines found on currency notes.

I'm not looking for just an etching effect plug-in, rather, a plug-in that can create the intricate background patterns and lines found on currency notes, which I would like to overlay on various photos to make them look like they are designed in the form of currency.

If there is no plug-in, is there a way to do this manually in Photoshop.

Hmm, I imagine software developers would avoid such a thing to stay out of trouble! ;-) Since you don't want to use a screen plug-in (such as Andromeda Screens), your next step might be to use a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop (or an integrated app such as Canvas) and draw the lines as vector strokes (using a scan of currency as a guide) and overlay them on your image.
