Plugins Work, But Reverse/Change RGB (in Corel Photo-Paint)

Post by Soniclight »

I have an older version (7) of Photo Paint, and right now have to deal with it - no money to upgrade, etc. and it works fine in all other respects.

I have some plugins, i.e. Harry's Filters and a few others, and no problem with the specific effects, but as subject line states, all colors reverse. I.e. red goes green, blue goes orange, etc. In black and whiite or applying a desaturated/black and white effect, no problem.

Once in a while, I get colors to work but most of the time this happens.

Last, one particular set of plugins flips the image vertically in addition to color reversal.

All version before Photo Paint 9 were a bit incompatible concerning Photoshop plugins.

So you have only the following options:
1. Update to Photo Paint 9 or later.
2. Flip the image or swap the color channels after applying the plugin.
3. Use one of the free applications that support Photoshop plugins to apply the plugin effect.

Here is a list of free applications that support plugins:

imageN (http://www.pixoid.com)
IrfanView (Version 3.85 and higher, www.irfanview.com)
Megalux Ultimate FX (http://www.ultimatepaint.com/ufx/)
VCW Vicman's Photo Editor (Version 6.9 and higher, www.photo-editor.net)
QFX LE (Version 7 and higher, www.qfx.com)

Thanks for reply and figured as much on plugin problems. Good idea on using other prog for FX. I already have Infan, but have not used yet. Will check out others at some point.
