16 bit version

Post by Sam »

Is it possible to use Color Washer on 48 bit color files or are you limited to just 24 bit color? I know the arguments of 8 vs 16, I personally keep my raw files at 16 bits until I adjust levels. It's a work flow I am used to, and I am impressed with your plugin but I would like to be able to process at the 16 bit level first.

Thanks,

A Pro Version of ColorWasher is planned which will have 16bit support and some other professional features. It will take some months until this advanced version will be available.

For the moment you will have to use ColorWasher on the 8bit level. Sorry.

No 'sorry' is needed. This plugin works great. If I purchase the current version, is the PRO version a no cost upgrade ? And if you plan to charge more, have you set a price as yet ? And will previous owners of the 8 bit version get a break in price ? Or am I really jumping the gun <g> ?

Thanks in advance.

If you order the current version, you will get a special upgrade price which will be the price difference between the Normal and the Pro Version. So you won't have any disadvantages.

A price for the Pro version isn't set yet, but it won't cost another $50. Probably $25. But the 16bit support won't be the only additional feature, there will be a lot more :-)

Harold, this is great news! Can't wait.. Scanning film I need all the bits I can get for the detail in the shadows. I hate to downsample. Your plugin is absolutely fantastic and can't wait for the update, as well as another delights you have in the works!

Sincerely,
Theresa
