circle/oval vignette in PLugin Galaxy

Postby 21CP » Thu Dec 04, 2003 10:17 pm

Hi, please help . I am trying to find out using your demo Galaxy if I can get a basic oval/circle vignette with adjustments I need, but demo does not allow me to commit changes and I can't see the result combined with other layers.
I need the following adjustments:
1. change radius of the cutout
2. change position of the center
3. change the gradient (or density of vignette) starting from the perimeter of the circle to the edges of the picture. ( I don't want to change density starting from the center of the circle - this makes center not visible when I need to black out edges competely)
4. change colors of the vignette frame

I figured out that Alpha Tool can be applied to a new layer to do this but again can't see result with demo.
Please help,
Vlad.

The Alpha Tool plugin of Plugin Galaxy lets you manipulate transparency. So if you place a fully white layer beneath the photo layer that Alpha Tool will work on, you can produce vignette effects with it.

The Circle Mask of Alpha Tool lets you create a circular, but not oval effect. You can position its center by right clicking on the preview. You can also change the radius, but not the densitiy of the gradient. You can change the color of the vignette effect by changing the color of the layer underneath.

So I would say the Alpha Tool does everything you want with the exception of Nr. 3.

There will be an Plugin Galaxy update next year. I'll keep your suggestion in mind and see that I can add a second slider for the density.
