BW-Styler: Ilford films

Hello,

I wonder how I can get the look of the Ilford HP5/ISO 400. I guess I have tried all settings, but the picture still looks kind of 'flat' (like flat grain). For instance, in Silver Efex, this film looks right. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Did you try the HP5 preset in B/W Styler? Not sure what you mean with flat.

Hello Harald,
I have attached 2 files, first is NIK HP5 400, second one is BW-Styler. To put it simple (and in english...): in BW I miss the grain in this one. If you enlarge the picture, you will see some kind of flat distortions, but nothing that looks like film grain. I guess I have overlooked something.

To add grain in B/W Styler you need to either switch to Film Grain mode, use the Grain tab sheet in Expert Mode or the Film Grain combo box in Photography Mode. The film presets only simulate the gray tones of the film. The grain is added seperately with grain presets.

I hope this helps.
