This #$%?!@# (lovely) message!

Post by concept1961 »

Hi,

I bought the FilterHub and when I try to open it via the Windows/Extensions menu, in Photoshop CS5 extended, I get this #$%?!@# (lovely) message : "Cannot complete command because the extension could not be loaded."

As far as I'm concerned, there's no way to use it.

I have the same problem with any other extension

Anyone of you had the same problem and, most of all, find a solution?

Thank you for your kindness and your help.

François

Do you use Windows or MacOS? If you use Windows, you can also run the automation version of FilterHub from File > Automate > FilterHub.

Concerning the error message someone at
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4006148
suggests reinstalling Photoshop CS5.

Thanks Harald,

I really appreciate your quick answer.

I'm on Windows 8, 64 bits, I did the reinstallation whitout any luck.

I have the same problem with all extensions, CS review, mini bridge, name-it!

I do really love Phoroshop but, as there is a fine line between love and hatred, I hate Photoshop! :D

You could try installing Adobe AIR at http://get.adobe.com/air/. All extension in Photoshop CS5 need AIR, so it if its not installed, they do not work.

Otherwise use the automation version of FilterHub as mentioned earlier.

Hi Harald,

Thank you aggain for your help.

I finally found the culprit!

I have the Nik Software Collection installed on my computer and they have an extension that gives you access to all their modules while in Photoshop.

After installing all my plugins one at a time, I found that my problem (and solution!) was there.

I remove their extension, keep the plugins and I can now use your filterhub and any other extension in PS CS5.

Have a great day.

F.
