larger pixel count is useless

Postby pefunk » Tue Aug 20, 2013 6:55 pm

My Sony SLT57 raw files measure 4928x3276 pixels with meta raw as opposed to 4912x3264 which amounts to 0.192 megapixels. Alas, these additional pixels are mostly artifacts that have to be cropped anyway resulting in an extra step in the workflow that doesn't gain anything.

Please look at the supplied samples (the right border of the frame in 100% view):

Can this be corrected?

This problem will be fixed in MetaRaw 1.01, which will be released soon. Thanks for letting me know about it. Even when cropping these pixels, MetaRaw still produces images that are 0.1 Megapixel larger.
