keyboard input in filter factory?

Is there any way to design a plug in FF that will prompt the user for specific values to be manipulated in a formula, for instance:

"enter the number of pixels per inch"

It would be great if I could do this. TIA - geoguy

Filter Factory only lets you input values from 0 to 255 with the help of sliders.
