A Graphic

Post by Grace »

Two pics in one! Highlight/Select the graphic... Do you know how it was created?

I remember reading something about it, it has to do with alpha transparency.
In this case the alpha transparency was probably added through programming, since it is a jpeg image, although one might be able to create something similar with a png (I haven't tried it, but who knows).

As for the similarity of the pics, it would work great if the two pictures are pretty similar (as in this graphic), but mainly the "second" picture has to simpler than the first to stay hidden until the HIGHLIGHT comes. If you enlarge the cover image there is a lot of small pixels?

Try guessing again…

Here is another pic... Make sure you highlight/select the pic to see the "hidden" pic.

Maybe this is a different technique than the one I've seen before, because you could do this using completely different images.
Anyway, this method only works in IE, nothing happens in Firefox, so it is most likely a programming thing.

Yes it is… when you figure out the technique you must try and make your own.

True it may not work in Mozilla/Firefox browser.

Well I'm not seeing anything happen in Opera, Mozilla, or IE, but If you had a link for the actual html page that this is on, you'll most likely find a javacsript, or dhtml rollover script. One that works only in IE I'm sure.

You can't view the source code, it is encrypted.

The site is http://www.lifepics.com/ and the source code is not encrypted,
but I'm on my way out right now, so I can't look around.

The url provided is simply to a jpg file, so what you see when you view source is naturally looking like gibberish.
