A small problem with Richard Rosenman plugins

Post by Hubbabub »

I have 20 of the free plugins from Richard Rosenman
http://www.richardrosenman.com/photoshop.htm

In PSP704 they all show up in the plugin menu
But in PSP901 only 18 of the 20 show up in the plugin menu.

The 2 plugins that don't show up in PSP9 is
the "Halftone" and "Vignette Corrector" plugins

I downloaded all of them again and cleared the PSP9's plugin cache,
same problem.

Anybody else with this problem

I found a solution

I did a seach for Halftone.8bf and Vignette.8bf in my plugin directory
I found 2 Halftone and 2 Vignette plugins
1 halftone and 1 Vignette filter from Rosenman
(located in the "Plug-ins/Rosenman" directory)
and then I found another Halftone and Vignette filter from
another plugin author, they where located in there own directories
in the plug-ins directory
("plug-ins/halftone" and "plug-ins/color efex")

The plugins had the same names but located in different directories,
I changed the name on Rosenman's filters, I added RR to the filename.

And now all the filters shows upp in PSP9

Yes, I know this problem. It is a bad habit of Photoshop (and also PSP) to ignore other plugins that have the same file name other plugins. Sometimes when you run Photoshop the one plugin shows and the next time the other plugin may show up.

It would save a lot of people some trouble if Photoshop and PSP would show all plugins and not ignore plugins with the same file name.
