pattern files

Post by truthnet »

Hello All, When I put pattern files in the pattern folder, the files don't show up on the pattern list in PSP7. The files are bmp types. I tried making another folder in my documents and tying the file to PSP, but the files didn't show on the patterns list. Any ideas, anyone?

I'm working with PSP9 but the principles may be the same. To make sure that PSP is reading from the correct files u go to File/Preferences/File Locations then click on Patterns.
Make sure that the file that your patterns are in is included by Browsing for it, Adding it and selecting OK.

A new life?????? Well . . . I'll settle for a good one!! lol

Did you clean up the cache? Sometimes you either need to delete the patterns cache file (in the Cache folder in the PSP directory) or restart PSP so that it rebuilds the previews for the patterns. Same thing goes for tubes, brushes...

or you could actually have way too many in there!!! :o

I keep most of my textures, patterns, etc in a separate folder, and just open the ones I need by browsing for them. They will show up at the top of the drop down selection box when you need them. PSP like is lean....
