Come and get it!
Now I will start on issue #2...

Distortation/caricature deformation
Hello.
My previous laptop performed it's final crash last week. With it, I lost an Elements plugin that allowed one to deform photos. It was a simple program that worked quite well for me.
A tool bar ran down the left side of the screen. It's two primary "buttons" were one to blow-up/expand the selected area, and one to shrink/deflate the selected area. I believe the top tool in that bar was a 'finger' which is used to nudge pixels over. And the area to be effected could be determined by a strength/size bar on the right of the screen.
And there was a step-undo function on that same tool bar, and a +/- magnifier.
I don't recall whether that was freeware or not, but I believe I purchased it via the internet. It was a stand-alone plug-in with no other purpose, and I believe it was $50 or less.
Do you, or any of your acquantinces perchance know the name of that plugin?
Thank you very much for any assistance you may be able to offer.

Hi Jerry,
Sounds almost like Photoshop's Liquify tool, but you say it was a standalone. For Windows? Maybe Squizz?
See other Distortion options at this link.

Distortion/cartoon software
Thank you for the quick reply.
I've looked through all the Photoshop plugins listed, with no luck. And I also checked the distortion link you provided, with no luck.
If it helps any, the program allowed one to click and drag a designated area in any direction to deform.
If you have any other thoughts, I'd appreciate them.
Thank you very much.

Now it sounds like the KPT Collection: "KPT Goo – smear, smudge, twirl, pinch or "finger-paint" an image to produce stunning liquid distortion effects or short animations".
It seems there are several plug-ins to do this.
Have you tried a Google search?
Also, is there no hope of recovering your data from the laptop?
