The top image shows how a logo would look with the Style Settings dialog of Photoshop Elements (PSE). The bottom image was created with LayerShop's Style Settings. PSE only supports black drop shadows, so they are invisible on a black background. LayerShop allows drop shadows of all colors. Without a bright drop shadow, the black letter outline also becomes invisible with PSE-only tools. The gloss effect on the letters was created with LayerShop's inner shadow effect, which is not available in PSE. PSE also does not allow gradients for layer effects like LayerShop, so it cannot create the white to red gradient here. (Graphics: Harald Heim)
