Quick 5-Step Example : "Quad Mix"

Stage 1 : It is possible to generate some very interesting (and complex) textures by combining several existing ones in your photo-editing package. I have used Photoshop and 4 textures from the Abstraction CD for this example. The first image is number 0890.

Stage 2 : Open another texture (from either the Abstraction or Mutation CD) and paste it on a new layer above the first one. I have used number 0873 and set the layer mode to "Lighten".

Stage 3 : The third texture used is number 0874 and again the layer mode is set to "Lighten". For best results make sure that you choose fairly basic textures to build with, otherwise you end up with a messy resulting image!

Stage 4 : The final texture is number 0866 but this time the layer mode is "Screen".

Stage 5 : And here you have the final image. Remember, it's best to use images that have different shapes and colors if you want to end up with something like this. Have fun!
