Stage 1 : For this tutorial you can use any photo-editing package that supports the use of "layers". I have used Photoshop here and started off by choosing a B&W piece of clipart, showing the outline of a typical Christmas card design.

Stage 2 : The idea here is to add a dramatic background in order to make the image really stand out. Choose an image from the Abstraction or Mutation CD. Here we have number 0034 from Abstraction.

Stage 3 : Paste this image on a new layer over the wisemen outline, and set the layer options to "Multiply". You now have a nice abstract sunset scene!

Stage 4 : You could leave it as simple as that. But try combining some other textures from the CD to get some interesting results. I have chosen number 0998, again from the Abstraction series.

Stage 5 : Paste the second texture on a new layer and set to "Darken". Flatten the image and adjust the brightness and contrast until you reach the desired result. There you have it ... an even more abstract sunset!
