Might explain some of the problems, but not all.
Not to worry, it's a good step forward knowing it isn't a known problem with a simple work around.
I'll take a closer look at some point (and let you know if I discover anything!)

Tried that and it doesn't help. I suspected that PiCo would look elsewhere for the dll. It is a common one after all, but "assume nothing" ;) I guess it must be _filter_ related since the preview works okay for some filters (even if the filter pops up a dialogue) and not for others. I'll have a poke...

For _some_ filters I get this error. I've had a look through the forum and, using Filemon, found that in one instance PiCo was unable to find msvcrt20.dll I located a copy and placed it in the PiCo program folder (along with msvcrt40.dll and msvcrt.dll for "just in case" completeness) Unfortunately ...
