Not offhand, but that's a very cool idea! I think you might need to look into various illustration apps. Microsoft is still offering FREE versions of the Expression illustration application it bought from Creature House of Hong Kong back in 2003. You can install all sorts of brushes for it, some of ...

Kim, you can use your image editor (Photoshop, PSP, etc.) or you can turn to third-party solutions such as The Plugin Site's own BW/Styler (see a full list of these options here).

It may not be related to the memory issues, but there is a known issue with the Intel OpenMP library Topaz Adjust uses for multi-processor support. ie, if another plug-in also accesses it, there is conflict and PS crashes (because the lib access is not released until PS quits). Supposedly this is an...

Ah ha. Check with Corel's website and see if they offer a PSP demo that you can use. Or Google and see if any other imaging apps handle PSP format files.

The return of buZZ simplification effects: Topaz Simplify

Artists who enjoyed the buZZ simplification effect (which has not been available for some time since the company went out of business) will be glad to see the return of the effect (done even better!) in the upcoming Topaz Simplify . Simplify is in public beta testing now and can be downloaded and us...

Thanks for finding that post for me! I recalled making it but hadn't sought it out yet. After making an "as is" backup copy, I just did some cleanup in my own PGE>Dreamsuite>Effects Presets folder (where there was much duplication of files). I found my earlier advice to still be true: In Photographi...

Hi Angela, Assuming you needed it with such a recent purchase, did you download the patch (when installed it is called PGE.plugin, dated 9/7/07) offered a little over a year ago? Last I checked, this and other patches helped Auto FX plug-ins run better as plug-ins. I had been using them as standalon...

International Photoshop periodical

There is a large international audience here so I thought you might be interested in a Photoshop magazine published out of Warsaw, Poland called .PSD Magazine (4-color hardcopy and PDF versions are available). They are always looking for contributors and run contests, so check them out and see if yo...

Can you tell us more about your computer (ie, operating system, and amount of RAM especially)?

Also, do you have the latest version of Dreamsuite? Auto FX quietly updated most of their products in fall 2007.

Have you tried running the standalone version (as opposed to the plug-in)?

In Word (2008, Mac, at least) you can do a File>Save As and choose PDF. If your images in the Word doc are hi-res (300ppi), the resulting PDF may be also. You may need to open this Word-generated PDF in Acrobat and resave with higher settings. Better yet, don't use Word for this sort of design–use a...
