I put an Action into the Image Ready Default Actions Folder however it won't load into the Actions Palette when I open IR.
Have tried resetting preferences and uninstall / reinstall PS 7 without resolving the problem.
Would anyone have any other ideas I could try?

Have you tried using the command Rescan Actions Folder?

In case you are not aware Photoshop and IR actions are not compatible, so if the file name ends in .atn, that would explain your problems.

Checked that they were trying to load the isa file.
We are a self help seniors group. Often get in a bit above our head because of our attitude that if you want to do something get on with it and persevere. Usually works

Don'r use IR (not installed), so I'm shooting in the dark.

On the Photoshop side just putting an .atn file into the Default Actions folder isn't enough. One needs to load it into the Actions Palette via Load Actions... command or clicking on its file name listed at the bottom of the Actions Palette menu.

Does it work the same in IR?

there is no facility in IR 7 to Load Actions, they have to be placed directly in the IR Actions Folder. when you open IR the actions are available in the actions palette. In CS IR loads actions the same as PS.
