I am doing a tutorial on how to create astronomical nebula. The first step says to use the pen tool and draw a shape then make a selection. I draw the shape fine, but when I click Make Selection in the Paths Panel nothing happens and I can find no directions in the manual. How do I do this?

The Make Selection command works here. What version of Photoshop Elements do you use?

You could also use the lasso tool to create a selection. If you do not need the path later, that would be the easier solution.

PSE 12. I kind of figured other selection methods would work, was just trying to follow the tutorial.
