I don't understand the procedure which seems to be going strangely
1 File>Open as layers
select the files
2 Enhance>Tasks>Panorama
brings the open file dialogue box
But the files are open!
3 selecting [cancel] puts the Panorama process into operation regardless
The panoramas are superb - just the strange step #3
the other Tasks requiring layers do similar
Layers XXL Panorama

Re: Layers XXL Panorama
Normally the procedure is:
1. Choose Enhance > Tasks > Panorama from the Enhance menu.
2. On the appearing Open As Layers dialog and select at least two images by using the Ctrl or Shift key. Then click the Open button.
3. Now you will see all images as layers stitched a panorama.
So you do not need to do the extra step of choosing "Open as Layers".
But if there already is a document with multiple selected layers (e.g. because you already used "Open as Layers" or opened a document with multiple layers with the Open command), you can go to Enhance > Tasks > Panorama and click Cancel on the Open as Layer dialog. Then the existing layers will be used instead of opening new image files.

Re: Layers XXL Panorama
If I want to load a series of RAW images - I can't use Open as layers or use the HDR etc method.
I have to open separately - then stack the images as layers - then use the Enhance route and cancel

Open As Layers and the Enhance > Tasks items can open raw files too. Doesn't it work for you?

Re: Layers XXL Panorama
Are you able to open the same raw files via File > Open? If not, then Photoshop Elements is the problem. See our MetaRaw product for making it work anyway.
Re: Layers XXL Panorama
Open with a RAW file in Elements does work. It is the Open as layers function which will not open RAW

Re: Layers XXL Panorama
What raw file are you trying to open? Which camera? What version of Photoshop Elements are you using?

Re: Layers XXL Panorama
I just noticed that the Open as Layers file dialog does not display .arw raw files. Sorry for the problem. This will be fixed with the next update. In the meantime please enter * or *.arw in the "File name" text box of the file dialog and hit the Enter key to see either all files or only .arw files.
