You can also click the trash can icon on the Layers panel to delete a layer mask.
Otherwise please go to Edit > Preferences > ElementsXXL and activate the "No Layers Context Menu Items" check box. Then the context menu item will work.
The problem will be fixed in ElementsXXL 5.02. Thanks for letting me know!
