I've updated Harry's Filters for Macintosh in order to make it easier to install. Additionally three plugin were removed, because they didn't work on the Mac.

The Plugin Store was updated, too, with a variety of new products. So have a look, if you're searching for some cool graphic software.

A new link was placed on the Other Effects/Tubes page. This link leads you to a catalogue with hundreds of free tubes sorted according to their content.

Last but not least a new download location (hopefully a faster one) has been added to the Plugin Commander Light download page.

The Galaxy Contest 2000 is still running until 30th September 2000.
64 images and animations have already been submitted to the contest. At the moment it looks as if everyone of the contest participant will get a prize, if there aren't any more contributions :-) Especially the 'Nicest Texture' and 'Best Animation' categories have currently very few entries, which provides good chances of winning a prize.

Moreover a new prize has even been donated in the meantime:

ACDSEE 3.0 (2 copies)

This means that there are now 58 prizes available.

You can have a look at the current contest submissions and instructions for taking part in the contest at

PSP 7 Beta

You can have a peak at the coming version 7 of Paintshop Pro by getting the beta 4 version (30 MBs) that is currently available for downloading.

Corel Presentations 9 for Windows, a dynamic presentation application, is available as a free download. With this tool you can create slide shows and drawings. Corel Presentations 9 has only been available as a part of WordPerfect Office 2000 and CorelDRAW 9 Office Edition up to now. But you will need some patience to download the 70 MBs of this package.

Ultimate FX 1.2 has been released. It is ad supported freeware and is just above 2 MB. Version 1.2 contains text writing capabilities, a new create HTML thumbnails function, a new Send via E-Mail function, a Transform/Auto Rotate component to rotate and crop scanned photos automatically and a Resize Canvas component to enlarge/reduce image. Additionally you can now open images with a fix zoom factor regardless of the image size.

PSPUG Brochure Contest

The Paintshop Pro Users Group's latest contest asks people to create a brochure advertising the city or place of their choice. Prizes include the Edge and Frame Galaxy CD, Paint Shop Pro Bundle from Sapphire Innovations and the book "Scanner Solutions".

The EyeWire Awards is a design contest. Compete in nine different categories, including Best Use of Photography, Best Use of Footage/Video, and Best Student Work. The Best of Show winner will drive away with a Sparrow Personal Electronic Transporter. Complete contest rules and PDF entry forms are available online.
